Initiatives

2020-2025 Initiatives:
  1. Fund full-time S.T.E.M. teacher position and support S.T.E.M. initiative.
  2. Maintain S.T.E.M. Closet materials for all classrooms to have needed supplies for S.T.E.M. projects and activities.
  3. Support teaming opportunities to provide staff with beneficial Professional Learning Community (PLC). In 2020-2021, Foundation teamed with PTO to provide a National Institute for Excellence in Teaching (NIET) program for staff at Shannondale.
  4. Support teaming opportunities to provide school with beneficial programs such as I-Ready.

2016-2019 Initiatives:

  1. Fund full-time S.T.E.M. teacher position and support S.T.E.M. initiative.
  2. Helped fund the after school Fitness Club.
2014-2015 Initiatives:
  1. One full-time teaching assistant position to work with teachers and students each day for $26,000.
  2. Provided a grant for $3,000 used for professional development for the staff at Shannondale.
  3. Learning materials for independent reading and math centers for $2,200
  4. Helped fund the Fitness Club and Extended Library after school programs for $2,000.
 2013-2014 Initiatives:
  1.  Six new Apple iMac computers, Apple Care, and Microsoft Mac Office for KD and 1st  grade classrooms for   $6,200.
  2.  One full-time teaching assistant for $25,000.
  3. Twenty-five new computers for the library for $25,000.
  4. $3,000 for professional development for staff
  5. $2,200 for teacher materials

2012-2013 Initiatives:

  1. Eight new Apple iMac computers, Apple Care, and Microsoft Mac Office for 2nd and 3rd grade classrooms for $8,200.
  2. Ten Apple iPad2s 16GB with wi-fi with Apple Care,  (10) protection cases, (1) Wireless-N Access Point, and $200 for level reader applications in kindergarten classrooms for $5,100.
  3. Two part-time positions for cafeteria monitors which allow our teaching assistants a total of six more hours spent with teachers and students each day for over $14,000.
  4. One Promethean ActiView USB Visual Presenter and multi-use presentation cart for a 4th grade classroom $660.
  5. A new portable science lab with equipment and materials identified by each grade level for $7,000.
